During last few months, many of our clients have asked us to help them find the experts who can clarify the positioning of various IoT connectivity technologies e.g. SigFox, LoRa etc. The key question they want our experts to answer is:”Which of the LPWA (Low power, wide area) connectivity technologies should they bet on? and why?”
In order to address this question, we surveyed 80+ experts in our network from various domains such as telcos, chip makers, IoT end customers. Here is an interesting chart summarizing the results:
The results are surprising in the sense that Sigfox and LoRa are probably the most discussed technologies. SigFox specifically has done a great job in promoting and evangelizing the concept of IoT specific networks. But when it comes to choosing an eventual winner, experts seem to be betting on a standard driven approach (NB-IoT) backed by traditional incumbents.
